Busy, Modern Regional Law Firm – You will work closely with the Partners and Deputy Head, assisting with strategic direction, technical expertise, client service, business development, management and contributing to the firms overall growth strategy.

Key Tasks, duties and quality standards
Client Service Excellence: Provide expert advice and assistance to clients on complex estate planning, trust creation and management, and inheritance tax issues. Ensure high quality legal services that meet the department’s financial targets.
Complex Case Handling: Manage intricate estate administration cases, including those involving high value assets, complex tax relief claims, and difficult family dynamics. Provide legal advice on Court of Protection matters, including gift applications and statutory Wills.
Strategic Decision Making: Provide decisionmakers with recommendations for the firm’s trust corporation regarding estates and trusts in administration, including investment decisions, property sales, and income and capital distributions.
Self Sufficiency & Delegation: Work independently while effectively leading and delegating tasks to junior staff to ensure efficient case management and optimal team performance.
Compliance & Risk Management: Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Ensure all client matters comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including AML and KYC procedures. Review file risk assessments for high risk matters and promote good file management practices across the department
Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong client relationships, demonstrating a proven track record of client retention and business development. Identify cross referral opportunities to other departments.
Leadership & Development: Assist in leading and developing the private client department, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Financial Management: Assist the department with meeting its financial targets and KPIs, including profitability and growth. Assess potential risks associated with Private Client work and provide strategic advice to clients on risk management and mitigation.
Strategic Growth: Assist with the development and implementation of a growth strategy for the department, as agreed with the firm’s Executive Committee. Assist with the department’s marketing strategy and private wealth PR campaigns and business development.
Supervision & Appraisals: Supervision of team members, with support from the Deputy, to ensure appropriate work allocation including monitoring work in progress and other KPIs to ensure targets achieved. Involve in career development planning and support the professional growth of team members.
Complaint Resolution: Assist the firm’s complaints team in handling and resolving complaints related to the department’s work.
